    Women And Child Development Department

    According to the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961, the following works are carried out by the Department of Women and Child Development, Bhandara:

    1. Implementation of various schemes and programs under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, as per the guidelines of the Commissionerate of Women and Child Development, Pune and Navi Mumbai.
    2. Implementation of schemes and programs through the Women and Child Welfare Committee, District Council, and exercising control over them.
    3. Exercising control over the functioning of Anganwadi centers at the Panchayat Samiti level, under the District Council.

    The Department of Women and Child Development implements various schemes, promoting them at the village level and providing supplementary nutrition to beneficiaries at Anganwadi centers. Health check-ups, immunization, referral services, and other benefits are also made available to beneficiaries through these centers.

     

    The department’s schemes benefit rural areas, focusing on the well-being and development of women and children.

    1. Improve the nutritional and health status of children in the 0-6 age group.
    2. Lay the foundation for the physical, mental, and social development of children.
    3. Reduce the incidence of child mortality, diseases, and malnutrition, and decrease school dropout rates.
    4. Ensure effective coordination between various government departments to promote child development and implement policies.
    5. Effectively implement schemes and programs through the Women and Child Welfare Committee.
    6. Implement government schemes for the upliftment and empowerment of rural women.
    7. Provide preschool education to children aged 3-6 years at Anganwadi centers.
    1. Lek Ladki Yojana: A scheme aimed at promoting girls’ education and development.
    2. Provision of Ladies Cycles: Providing ladies cycles to rural girls studying in classes 5th to 12th.
    3. Provision of Sewing Machines: Providing sewing machines to rural women to promote self-employment.
    4. Tailoring Training: Providing tailoring training to rural girls and women.
    5. MSCIT Training: Providing MSCIT (Maharashtra State Certificate in Information Technology) training to rural girls and women.
    6. Financial Assistance for Disabled Women: Providing financial assistance to disabled women in rural areas to start small businesses.
    7. Other Government Schemes: Implementing various other government schemes for the welfare of women and children in rural areas.
