    Introduction

    Information about the Department

    District Water and Sanitation Mission Cell, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) under G.P. Bhandara, Jal Jeevan Mission as well as Water Quality Program are jointly implemented by the Central Government, under the above scheme construction of individual toilets from Panchayat Samiti level to Gram Panchayat and village level, construction of public toilets. , sewage and solid waste management works, publicizing various Nal Jal Mitra and other campaigns under Jal Jeevan Mission, organizing water quality sanitation and survey program at Gram Panchayat level and Directed by government level etc. Important campaigns, programs are planned and implemented.

    Introduction

    According to the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act, 1961, the following works of class-3 and class-4 are handled under District Water and Sanitation Mission Cell Division under G.P. Bhandara.

    • Implementation of various ancillary works including individual toilets, public toilets and sewage solid waste management under Swachh Bharat Mission (SMB) from district level to Gram Panchayats under Panchayat Samiti.
    • Presenting information about various campaigns and programs of the government through the Water Management and Sanitation Committee under Zilla Parishad.
    • To implement various campaigns of the government by organizing various trainings, workshops, publicizing Swachh Bharat Mission (Gra), Jal Jeevan Mission and water quality program at the district level.

    Structure

    At Zilla Parishad level- Project Director (Jal Jeevan Mission) and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Water), Office Superintendent (full time on deputation), Clerk (full time on deputation),Water Quality Inspector (full time on deputation) as well as experts/consultants on various subjects approved by the Government level. , officers and employees work on (contractual) basis.

    At the Panchayat Samiti level – Group Coordinators and Group Coordinators (on contract basis) under the administrative control of Group Development Officers and Extension Officers (Panchas) work under the Group Resource Center (PAWSW).

    Vision and Mission

    Under District Water and Sanitation Mission Cell, G.P. Bhandara, all families at the Gram Panchayat level have the facility of personal toilet, providing clean and pure drinking water to taps to every house, and creating comprehensive measures and facilities with a view to making the villages more sanitation-free.

    Objectives and Functions

    1. To review the various development work going on in the area of ​​work and where the progress of the work is not satisfactory or if any difficulties arise on the actual site to resolve the same.
    2. To check whether subordinate zonal officers and employees satisfactorily perform assigned tasks and duties.
    3. To inspect whether the administrative work in the field office and the project site, financial and accounting matters are done according to the rules prescribed by the government or not.
    4. Dissemination of the plan through various government programs, trainings, gatherings through the district council, communication with the local people through house visits, seeking the cooperation of the local people and public representatives to implement various development plans.
    5. Daily work as well as progress reports of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Jal Jeevan Mission, Water Quality Program, submit updated records on the government website based on inspection and submit the campaign information to the senior office from time to time and take all necessary measures to achieve the said objectives within the prescribed period.
